Event Overview

Attended by more than 400 teams each December, this event has quickly become known for its high quality competition, world-class fields of play, and top-notch organization. But the real accolades are for the players who get to compete for scholarships in front of hundreds of college coaches.

Sports Enthusiast volunteer positions are available for ball persons who will be strategically placed around the soccer field to retrieve out of bounds soccer balls, assist with monitoring the field, assist referees and potentially keep score.

Registration

Volunteer Registration will open a few months prior to the event.

Eligibility

Sports Enthusiasts must be at least 9 years of age. Sports Enthusiasts under the age of 15 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Remember that children under the eligible age are not allowed to accompany you. You will be told on the event day that your services cannot be utilized if you have children younger than the eligible age with you. This is for the safety of your child and everyone involved. Sports Enthusiasts under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver prior to the event.

Confirmation

Sports Enthusiasts will receive confirmation of the shifts for which they have been scheduled. Confirmations will be mailed approximately 30 days prior to the event or emailed after that time. Confirmation will include further information on parking, directions, and other useful information.

Beneficiary

The Bryane Heaberlin Foundation began the Many Hearts One Goal campaign to help the earthquake ravaged country of Haiti and it's U17 girls soccer team. The Foundation hopes to bring the team back to the US and play in a college showcase tournament. Go4theGoal Foundation assists families and children affected by cancer. Schedule

Sports Enthusiast shifts and activities will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Although every effort will be made to accommodate your selection, the scheduling office reserves the right to schedule volunteers based on event needs, which includes placing volunteers on a waiting list. You will receive a confirmation packet closer to the event. Please refrain from requesting schedule changes until you receive your confirmation. Schedules are subject to change.

APPRECIATION

As a Sports Enthusiast for the 2012 Disney Soccer Showcase, you will receive one commemorative t-shirt for the event (sizes are not guaranteed) and one snack per shift (snacks are provided at the start of your shift. If you have special dietary needs, please plan accordingly.) Volunteer for any of the events included in the Annual Sports Enthusiasts Calendar, and you will receive one point for each hour of service completed. For every sixteen (16) points accumulated, you will receive a complimentary Walt Disney World® One Day One Park theme park ticket. This ticket entitles you to one visit to any of the following Walt Disney World® Theme Parks: Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. Tickets will be mailed within sixty (60) days.
