Disney Junior Field Hockey Showcase offers younger age groups the chance to experience the same great national competition and top-notch tournament organization as their older counterparts in the Disney Field Hockey Showcase in February. Team Parent Reception

Your team’s planner and a Guest are invited to attend an optional welcome reception designed to help you maximize your role and team experience. It will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill at 9:00 am on Sunday, July 21, 2013. Pre-registration is required.

Hotel Accommodations - As part of the event "Stay to Play" Policy, all athletes and coaches participating at Disney Junior Field Hockey Showcase are required to purchase resort accommodations through the official travel provider of the event.

Submit Required Documents (Due June 10, 2013)

TEAM ROSTER - Teams are required to submit an online roster through the USA Field Hockey website. Roster limits are 14 athletes and 2 coaches. Rosters missing any USFHA membership numbers will be viewed as incomplete and therefore discarded.

Game Schedule (July 5, 2013)
The preliminary game schedule will be posted on www.espnwwos.com. A final schedule will be available at Coaches Registration on Saturday, July 20, 2013.

On-Site Event Check-In (July 20, 2013)
One rostered coach is required to attend registration between 3pm and 7pm at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Upon arrival, signs will direct you to the exact location. The team representative will verify rosters, submit waivers, and receive the team's credentials for admission to the Sports Complex for the duration of the event.

Updated Waiver Information
You are required to submit signed Disney Sports Waivers for each team member and coach that will be listed on your official team roster.

Complex Admission

Spectator admission is required at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Length-of-Event passes (LOE) allow for admission to all days of the event.

Daily admission: $16.00 (ages 10 & older) $11.00 (ages 3-9)
LOE admission: $32.00 (ages 10 & older) $22.00 (ages 3-9)

Driving directions

On Site Event Check In

One rostered coach is required to attend registration between 3pm and 7pm at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Upon arrival, signs will direct you to the exact location. Coaches' Meeting

A coach from each team is required to attend a mandatory meeting that will take place from 6pm to 7pm on Saturday, July 20th at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Please contact USA Field Hockey if you have any questions.

Roster

Teams are required to submit an online roster. Roster limits are 14 athletes and 2 coaches. An additional 2 non-athletes (i.e., team parent) may also receive credentials at the on-site event check-in.

Rosters missing any USA Field Hockey membership numbers will be viewed as incomplete and therefore discarded. Instructions can be found at the link below.

Waiver

Guest Player Registration

Guest Player Eligibility to participate in USA Field Hockey Events:

Clubs may have up to three guest players per tournament per team.
Guest players are members of the club they are affiliated with and are not considered members of the club they are participating with as a guest player.
The guest player must be a USA Field Hockey player member in good standing.
Guest players must be included on the official roster submitted at the start of the event. Guest players may not switch teams after the start of the tournament. The start of the tournament is when the first game begins; not when a particular team plays its first game.

How to enter the Guest Player Pool:

Players individually register for the event by clicking HERE and signing up as a new player
Under Player Information, for the Player ID#, please use your USA Field Hockey ID

There is no fee to register as a guest player. Also, there is no guarantee that athletes who register for the guest player pool will be picked up by a team.

Teams are able to view/acquire registered guest players through their team account page, after the team has been accepted. Once logged in to your team account page, click on Disney Junior Field Hockey Showcase 2013, in the tournament box, and you will see the 'Guest' tab at the top of the screen. Click on the tab to access the pool of individual player's and their information.

General FAQs

If I register a JR Showcase team do I get an early registration for the Field Hockey Showcase in February?

Yes, if you register a JR Showcase team, you will get an early registration for our Field Hockey showcase which features U16 and U19 age divisions.

Will there be college coaches at the JR Showcase?

No, there will not be any college coaches at the JR Field Hockey Showcase. College coaches do attend the Field Hockey Showcase in February.

What documents are required to participate?

All teams must upload a current roster, be affiliated with USA Field Hockey, and all players must sign waivers to be eligible to participate in the JR Field Hockey Showcase.

What if I cancel my team?

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and must be received 45-days prior to the tournament start day in order for the entry fee refund to be considered. Teams canceling after the tournament draw has been drafted will forfeit the entry fee.

What rules do you play by for this tournament?

Unless otherwise stated in the Rules section, the FIH rules will be in effect and govern play for all divisions in Disney Junior Field Hockey Showcase. Note: Failure to comply with the rules as outlined will be cause for match to be declared a forfeit.

Is there a limit of coaches and players for each team?

Yes! For this event each team rosters are limited to 14 athletes and 2 coaches. Rosters missing any USFHA membership numbers will be viewed as incomplete and therefore discarded.

Can a single player register and still compete in the showcase?

Yes, guest players can register on our site under the Guest Player tab for free and be picked up by teams attending the showcase and looking for players. The guest player would still be affiliated with their original club. There is no guarantee, however, that guest players will be picked up.

Where do I get players and coach's credentials?

Players and coaches will be issued credentials for entrance into the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at the team check in. All players and coaches must sign a waiver before they will be issued a credential.

When and how will I be notified of my schedule?

Preliminary schedules will be released approximately two weeks before the start of the tournament. Final schedules will be given to teams when they check in at the Complex.

How late will the games be on the last day?

We make every attempt to complete the last games by 3:00 pm. If you are traveling on Disney's Magical Express to Orlando International Airport, it's recommended to depart your hotel three hours prior to your scheduled flight. Please do not schedule a departing flight prior to 5 pm on the final day of the tournament, knowing that your team could play until 3pm.

*Tournament schedule may change at any time due to inclement weather, etc.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Will there be athletic trainers onsite?

During events, athletic trainers, provided by South Lake Hospital, are present at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and are able to respond to athlete injuries. Additionally, athletic trainers, provided by South Lake Hospital, may be available for preventative taping pre-event, subject to availability, at no cost, if athletes bring their own tape and pre-wrap. Taping kits may also be purchased at The ESPN Clubhouse Shop at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Taping required for the initial treatment of an injury sustained during event competition that has been handled by a South Lake Hospital athletic trainer is at no additional cost. For additional information or questions about athletic trainers at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, please call the South Lake Hospital Athletic Trainer program at (407) 938-1478.

If I play a game in the morning and at night, can I leave my team's equipment in storage at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?

No. Due to the number of athletes competing at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, there will not be any storage space available. Teams are responsible for their own equipment at all times.

Where do I park for the Event?

Parking at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is complimentary. In the event ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex parking lot is filled to capacity, guests will be directed to alternate complimentary parking areas. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will provide guests with shuttle and bus transportation to and from the alternate complimentary parking areas.

How will inclement weather affect my schedule?

Adjustments to the schedules due to inclement weather will be made by the Tournament Director if necessary. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex reserves the right to modify and/or cancel daily events in the case of severe weather.

In the case of lightning or severe rain, all competition will be halted and all guests will be asked to proceed to the safety of the designated lightning shelters. The competition will resume when the weather clears, or be postponed to the following day.

Will shower facilities be available for my team at the conclusion of our competition on our final day at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?

There are no shower or locker room facilities available at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Accomodations

Who needs to make reservations through the designated travel provider?

Do you offer special accommodations for family and fans?

Yes. Teams are able to book their accommodations for all family and fans through our official travel provider of Disney Field Hockey.

Can the Multi-Day Disney Theme Park ticket in the package be upgraded to another ticket?

Yes it can! Please contact the official travel provider of Disney Junior Field Hockey Showcase for details. Walt Disney World® Water Park and Disney Quest® Interactive Theme Park tickets are also available.

Can I make changes to my rooming list after I have already submitted it?

Please call the official travel provider of Disney Junior Field Hockey Showcase for details.

Will parents and other spectators have to pay admission into ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex if their team is playing?

Yes. Parking is complimentary but all spectators are required to purchase admission into ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Spectators may instead choose to purchase a Length of Event [LOE] pass that is valid for admission on all days of the tournament at a reduced price. LOE and general admission tickets are non-refundable/non-exchangeable, regardless of number of days your team competes.

Do I need to arrange transportation while I'm visiting ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?

Yes, teams will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Transportation is available to and from Orlando International Airport with Disney's Magical Express to any Disney Resort. However, there will be NO tournament transportation to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. There are limited buses that go to the sports complex, but teams are encouraged to have their own transportation arranged to and from the complex for their games.

As always, there are complementary Disney buses available to transport players, coaches and spectators to and from Disney Resorts and between Disney theme parks.

Is there food available at the Complex?

Concession and Merchandise stands will be open throughout ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Can I arrange for a private team banquet or party on Disney property during our stay?

Yes. Please call 407-939-1389 and a Catering & Convention Service Manager will assist you in arranging a special event that will meet your team's needs.

Can I arrange for a team meal on Disney property during our stay?

Yes! You may call 407.WDW.DINE to make a reservation for your team.

Can I arrange for a catered team meal at the sports complex during our stay?
