  • Scrimmages will not have umpires.
  • Non-official games will have umpires and not count towards your team record.

Each Team's Full Room Deposit must be received prior to schedule release.

Equipment Needs
Each team is responsible for providing its own catching gear, gloves, bats, practice balls, helmets, etc. Balls are only provided for games and within the batting cage. Balls for practice are not available.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex has a continued partnership with Worth® Sports and The Jugs Company. We will not only provide scheduled use of the four batting tunnels equipped with new Jugs pitching machines and balls, but we will also have other Jugs offensive practice equipment on-hand. In addition, we will provide Worth® Sports game balls, and water fountains, which are located in each dugout.

Registration for 2013 Disney Spring Training is now closed.

2014 Disney Spring Training will take place February 20, 2014 - April 26, 2014 and registration will open on May 16, 2013.

TEAM ENTRY FEES AND DEADLINES

  • $600 received between May 16 – September 30, 2012
  • $775 received between October 1 - October 31, 2012

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY In the event a team must cancel their visit to Disney Spring Training, please use the following timeline:

  • We must be notified in writing by November 1, 2012, in order for you to receive a full refund of the entry fee.
  • Any cancellation after November 1, 2012 will result in no monetary refund.
  • Teams that cancel between November 1, 2012 through January 1, 2013 will have an opportunity to "roll-over" into Disney 2014 Softball Spring Training program. (This policy is in effect regardless of the date when your team actually registered for the event. Subject to change as determined by Disney).

ONLINE REGISTRATION AND SCHEDULING SYSTEM
All teams will register through our online registration and scheduling system, gotsport.com. Teams will need to enter a username and password to begin the application process. Returning teams may use the same username and password selected in the previous year which will include some information from past application, i.e. contact information and roster. If you are registering multiple teams for your school, please note that each team will need to have a separate ID and Password.

Disney Spring Training includes select team video analysis subscription(s) provided by PowerChalk.com., at no cost. In our continuing efforts to provide world-class tools and facilities for your team, PowerChalk will provide each Disney Spring Training team with the following subscription services.

 REQUIRED ON-SITE CHECK-IN AND EVENT REGISTRATION
 Upon check-in at your resort, all Guests will receive their Theme Park Tickets. Those Guests who purchased spectator packages will receive their length of event passes to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
 Event registration will be conducted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the length of their stay. Location and time will be included on each team's individual schedule.

 

Fundraising

We understand fundraising is an important step in the decision to travel as a team. So we've put together some fundraising resources below for you to consider.

Dream Team Donation Program

We are excited to be working with Charity Get Away on a donation program that will award a Walt Disney World® Resort vacation to ten lucky donors. This "Dream Team" random drawing donation program ("Donation Program") allows your team to leverage the excitement of your upcoming ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex experience and share with family, friends and your community. What's better than offering supporters the chance to be on their own road to Disney?

"Dream Team" Grand Prize Winners of the Donation Program receive (subject to standard restrictions and official rules):

One (1) vacation package for up to four (4) persons consisting of three (3) nights (one room, based on quad occupancy) and four (4) days at the Walt Disney World® Resort including:

  • Four (4) 4-Day Magic Your Way with Park Hopper® Option theme park tickets
  • A cash prize of $500 to winner and each of winner's guests to be used towards travel expenses such as air fare

The Dream Team Donation Program will allow you to keep 75% of all proceeds you collect from the Donation Program tickets. The remaining 25% of proceeds will be used to cover costs with administering the Donation Program and fulfilling the trips. The program is available to teams in the following states: Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ney York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

It takes a team to make the dream of going to Disney World for student athletes come true. Working with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Alamo Rent-A-Car, we developed a program that allows you to earn fundraising dollars for your team while doing an everyday activity - renting a car.

Once you've registered for the program, 5% of qualifying purchases from you, family and friends will go to your team. While the program can be used for travel at any time, your upcoming trip to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex would be a great opportunity to earn extra funds for your team.

Travel Packages

2013 Spring Training packages start at $479* per person at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort and $539* per person at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

In order to participate in Disney Spring Training all players and coaches are required to purchase the minimum Spring Training hotel and theme park ticket package.


Player and coach packages include:

  • Minimum 4-nights' accommodations at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and/or Walt Disney World® Good Neighbor Hotel (based upon availability)
  • Minimum 3-Day Magic Your Way Theme Park Ticket which entitles you to Admission to one of the following theme parks for each day of the Ticket:
    • Magic Kingdom® Park
    • Epcot®
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park
  • Credentialed access to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and offsite venues for players and coaches.

Leave the Transportation to Us!
Bus transportation is included when you stay at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. When you stay in either of these Disney resorts, two great programs will cover all of your Spring Training transportation needs. Disney's Magical Express will get you from Orlando International Airport to your Disney resort and back, and our Spring Training buses will get you from the hotel to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and back each day. Ask your Sports Sales Manager for more details on how to take advantage of these new services.

Once you submit your team's registration and team entry fee, your information will be forwarded to a Disney Sports Travel agent who will contact you within 48 hours to verify your requests and begin the booking process. A package deposit of $200.00 per room is due 14 days after initial booking. All submissions in the GotSport.com team profile are requests only until verified by your Disney Sports Travel agent.

Spectators traveling with your team can take advantage of the same specially-priced hotel and theme park ticket packages that are available for players and coaches. Your Disney Sports Travel agent can also assist with ticket upgrades, additional room nights, vehicle rentals, and airfare options.

*All package prices listed are per person based on quad occupancy and include sales tax. The number of packages available at this rate are limited and advanced reservations are required. Minimum 4-night stay required. No more than 4-persons per room. Additional fees may apply if more than 2 adults per room. Includes credentialed access to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for althetes and coaches. Transportation from the resort and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is provided during event; provided, however, both the type of transportation and the schedule shall be determined by Disney in its sole and absolute discretion. Meal certificates are now available for purchase!

Ask your Group Reservation Agent how you can purchase breakfast, lunch and/or dinner certificates for your team in addition to your Disney Spring Training travel package. These new options are a great way to ensure your team meals are quick and easy!

Breakfast meal certificate - $9.99 per person per meal
Lunch/Dinner meal certificate - $15.98 per person per meal
Resort Refillable Beverage Mugs - $16.50 per person per each

Breakfast includes a choice of ONE (1) non-alcoholic beverage and ONE (1) breakfast platter or bakery item/side dish. Lunch or Dinner includes a choice of ONE (1) of the following: One (1) combo meal (entrée, side dish and single serving non-alcoholic beverage) and one (1) dessert OR One (1) entrée, one (1) side dish (if not included in entrée), one (1) dessert and one (1) single-serving non-alcoholic beverage at participating locations.

Ordering Boxed Meals

Teams attending 2013 Disney Spring Training have the option to place catering orders in advance of their trip for quick, easy and well balanced boxed meals, bulk beverages, and/or snacks. The convenience of having your meals planned in advance will save on time and stress. Fill it out, fax it back, and complete your planning to ensure happy, healthy, well fed athletes during your competition.

Please place your order your at least 2 business days prior to the event date. Deliveries for Saturday, Sunday or Monday must be received by 3pm on Friday.

Photography

Capture every exciting moment of your competition with the ESPN Wide World of Sports Gameday Photos Service. You can register your team for a Team Photo CD for only $5 per athlete. Your entire team must add this option to their travel package in order for this discounted rate to apply.

The price includes a Team Photo CD for one game or practice (minimum of 150 photos). Additional games/practices are available for purchase. Photographers will be scheduled to photograph at our discretion during Disney Spring Training. Schedules are subject to change due to weather, game delays and other unforseen circumstances. Reservations subject to availability.

Competition Venues

Featuring six full-size fields, the Softball Diamondplex offers the finest training and playing conditions available. Large dugouts have helmet/equipment shelves, and two enclosed bullpens per field have a direct phone connection to the scorer's tower. We also offer three batting tunnels equipped with pitching machine and balls, as well as the latest practice equipment from The Jugs Company.

All competitors need to arrive at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex ready to compete. There are NO shower & locker room facilities available. Please plan accordingly on your departure day activities, as hotels require an 11 AM checkout.

Complex Admission

All spectators are required to purchase admission into EPSN Wide World of Sports Complex for either an individual daily admission or a length-of-event (LOE) pass that is valid for all days of the team's stay. LOE and daily admission tickets are non-refundable/non-exchangeable, regardless of number of days your team competes. Spectators purchasing the travel package will have a Length-Of-Event (LOE) ticket included in the package. Spectators can purchase their packages through Disney Sports Travel by calling 407-939-7810 option #3.


  • Daily admission: $16.00 (ages 10 & older) $11.00 (ages 3-9)
  • LOE admission: $64.00 (ages 10 & older) $44.00 (ages 3-9)
  • There is no charge for children under age 3

Spectators traveling with your team can take advantage of the same specially-priced hotel and theme park ticket packages that are available for players and coaches. Your Disney Sports Travel agent can also assist with ticket upgrades, additional room nights, vehicle rentals, and airfare options. Transportation

Transportation is provided if you are staying at Disney's All Star Sports Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

  • Disney's Magical Express provides transportation to and from Orlando International Airport to any Disney Resort.
  • Exclusive Transportation is provided for all Spring Training Guests to and from ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Disney's All-Star Sports Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. If you do not choose to stay at either resort you will need to arrange for your own transportation to and from ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
  • Complimentary transportation throughout Walt Disney World® Resort - including transportation to and from Walt Disney World® Theme Parks and Walt Disney World® Water Parks - is available to Guests of Walt Disney World® Resort hotels.

Teams who are not staying at Disney's All Star Sports Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will need to arrange their own transportation.

On Site Event Check In

Upon check-in at your resort, all Guests will receive their Theme Park Tickets. Those Guests who purchased spectator packages will receive their length of event passes to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Event registration will be conducted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the length of their stay. Location and time will be included on each team's individual schedule.

Roster

You may add or take off players from your roster/rooming list. All changes require a phone call to your sports travel representative by calling 407-939-7810 option #3.

However, every player must complete a Sports Waiver Form prior to arrival (minors must have a parent or legal guardian's signature) and purchase a package.

FIELD OPERATIONS GUIDELINES

  • Pre-game infield practice is not guaranteed, as the grounds crew will prepare the fields as often as possible.
  • A coin toss will determine the home team and the visiting team.
  • Official games will have umpires and scorekeepers and would be considered part of both team's regular season schedule.
  • Non-official games will have umpires and scorekeeper but will not count as an official game towards either team's record.
  • Scrimmages will not have officials - umpires or scorekeepers
  • Each team should report to their assigned game field at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their game

CREDENTIALS
Credentials are tickets for athletes and coaches to gain access to the complex. These will be distributed at registration. Coaches may pick up credentials for the entire team by providing the proper documents for verification. To receive a credential, each team must have already paid their Spring Training Entry Fee, purchased their participant Spring Training packages and completed a Sports Waiver form. To minimize your process time at registration, all waivers are due 30 days prior to your arrival. If this information is not received in advance, please allow 30- 45 minutes to register before receiving your credentials. Credentials are nontransferable. If your credential is lost or stolen, it will be necessary to pay a replacement fee.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL COACHES
It is imperative that you know your state regulations prior to filling out your schedule request activities. Each school is responsible for abiding by their state high school athletic associations' rules, guidelines, and/or policies (i.e. no games before a certain date, limit on the number of games per day, no official games allowed, etc.).

  • High School games will comply with National Federation Rules (official games) Please visit the National Federation site at nfhs.org to find out more information pertaining to your states rules.
  • Non-official games will always have a 1 hour 45 minute time limit. No new inning may be started after the 1 hour 45 minute limit expires. Should an inning begin before the end of the 1 hour 45 minute time limit and continue beyond the 1 hour 45 minute limit, the inning will be played out in its entirety.

ATTENTION COLLEGE COACHES
College games will be played according to NCAA rules!

Waiver

All rostered athletes and coaches are required to sign a waiver to participate in Disney Spring Training. Please click on the appropriate waiver below

  • 2013 Adult Softball Spring Training Waiver
  • 2013 Minor Softball Spring Training Waiver
  • Before distributing these forms, the coach should print the Team/School Name & Division in the "Event Information" section on the form.
  • Photocopy the number of forms you require.
  • There is no limit to the number of athletes and coaches you wish to bring, but all are required to purchase a participant package.
  • All minors (under age 18) must have a parent or legal guardian sign the "Release and Indemnity" section.
  • The Coach is responsible for photocopying, distributing, collecting, and returning all waivers.
  • Please bring all waivers to turn in the day of registration.

Please make sure to make copies of all waivers before submitting, and bring them to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on the day of Team Registration. Do not mail or fax in advance

Packages
Who exactly needs to purchase the participant packages?
All players, coaches and athletic staff traveling with the team are required to purchase a participant package. Rooming lists will be cross-checked with the Sports Waiver Forms to verify the total number of credentials each team receives.
Do you offer any packages for family or fans (spectators)?
Yes! Spectator packages are available for anyone traveling to watch and support your team. These packages are the same as the participant package with the addition of admission into ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Please call Disney Sports Travel at 407-939-7810 option #3, for more information.
Can my team entry fee go towards the purchase of a package?
No! The entry fee secures your team's place in Disney Spring Training. It is not a deposit, nor does it go towards any package prices.
Can the Park Ticket in the package be upgraded to another ticket?
Yes it can! Your Disney Sports Travel Agent can explain the options for upgrading and help you choose what best fits your needs during your spring training trip. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Parks and DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park Tickets are also available.
Does the Magic Your Way Base Theme Park Ticket need to be used on consecutive days, or can it be spread out over a number of days?
The Magic Your Way Base Theme Park Ticket does not have to be used consecutively. However, it is valid only on the specific dates of the event and for a limited period of time before and/or after the event.
When is my initial package deposit, remaining balance and rooming list due?

Roster and Rooming List
If my team roster hasn't been established (i.e. because tryouts have not occurred yet), can I add or make corrections to the roster at any time?
A:  Yes! You may add or take off players from your roster/rooming list. All changes require a phone call to your sports travel representative by calling 407-939-7810 option #3. However, every player must complete a Sports Waiver Form prior to arrival (minors must have a parent or legal guardian's signature) and purchase a package.
Sports Complex
What type of equipment will ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex provide?
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex has a continued partnership with Worth® Sports and The Jugs Company. We will not only provide scheduled use of the four batting tunnels equipped with new Jugs pitching machines and balls, but we will also have other Jugs offensive practice equipment on-hand. In addition, we will provide Worth® Sports game balls, and water fountains, which are located in each dugout. Each team is responsible for providing its own catching gear, gloves, bats, practice balls, helmets, etc.
Will practice balls be provided to my team?
No. All teams are required to provide their own practice balls. Balls are provided to teams for games and in the batting cages.
What type of attire is appropriate during our time at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?
Games - Players must wear a uniform/jersey with a number on the back of the jersey. Shirts are required at all times. High school teams may wear metal cleats or molded/plastic cleats.
If I practice in the morning and play a game at night, can I leave my team's equipment in storage at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?
No. Due to the number of athletes competing at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during your visit, there will not be any storage space available. Teams are responsible for watching their own equipment in between competition.
Will shower facilities be available for my team at the conclusion of our competition on our final day at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?
No, showers or locker room facilities ARE NOT available at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. You will need to make prior arrangements with the hotel manager at your hotel before your departure date.
Are we allowed to bring coolers in to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?
Coolers are allowed at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on a limited basis. However, alcoholic beverages and glass containers are not permitted. (See Cooler Policy. Subject to change anytime without notice.)
Will there be athletic trainers onsite?

During events, athletic trainers, provided by South Lake Hospital, are present at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and are able to respond to athlete injuries. Additionally, athletic trainers, provided by South Lake Hospital, may be available for preventative taping pre-event, subject to availability, at no cost, if athletes bring their own tape and pre-wrap. Taping kits may also be purchased at The ESPN Clubhouse Shop at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Taping required for the initial treatment of an injury sustained during event competition that has been handled by a South Lake Hospital athletic trainer is at no additional cost. For additional information or questions about athletic trainers at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, please call the South Lake Hospital Athletic Trainer program at (407) 938-1478.

At all off-site venues, preventative taping may not always be available. However, there will always be medical staff available for wound and emergency care.

Will parents and other spectators have to pay admission into ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex even though their team is playing?
Yes. All spectators are required to purchase admission into ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. A length of event admission is included in all purchased Spectator Packages. Spectators not purchasing a package may purchase individual daily admission to ESPN Wide World of Sports.
Transportation
Is transportation provided during Disney Spring Training Program?
Transportation is provided if you are staying at Disney's All Star Sports Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

Schedules
When and how will I be notified of my schedule?
A schedule of activities will be determined from your Scheduling Requests submitted on your GotSport profile. Coaches will be working with their Sports Manager to determine their schedule of events. See the Schedule page for more information.

What is this online program?
GotSport is an online registration and scheduling program. In 2011, all teams will be required to register using this system. Much of your trip preparations will be handled through this site: schedule requests, viewable and printable activity schedule, roster, and pre-order merchandise.
What is required to be filled out for my team?
Within 7 days of receiving your GotSport welcome email, coaches must fill out the following mandatory tabs in their entirety: Application & Team Information, and Requests & Schedule. Additional sections will need to be updated at a later date: Roster & Rooming List (due 60 days prior to arrival) and Merchandise (pre-orders due by February 4, 2011).
How do I get a login ID and password?
Each team creates their own personalized login ID and password during the registration process. (Separate logins must be created for each team and sport).
What do I do if I forget my login ID and password?
Assistance is available online to retrieve forgotten login information. Follow this link to the log in page gotsport.com. If necessary, you may contact our office for additional assistance at 407-938-3236.
