Format:
All AAU National Championships, including the Grand Nationals, offer a 7-game guarantee. Teams compete in the first round of pool play in pools of four. After the first round of pool play is completed, the first- and second-place teams advance to the Diamond division, the remaining teams advance to the Gold division. The second round of pool play determines the team's seeding in the final round: single-elimination. There are no "classic" or "consolation" brackets. The Diamond and the Gold divisions are considered two separate tournaments based on teams' exhibited skills.
